Sandie McFarlane
My Name is Sandie McFarlane, I was born and raised in a small village outside Edinburgh Scotland, and in 1983 the Family and I moved to Fayetteville North Carolina.
I was always interested in Art, but never fully pursued it until my children were finished with all schooling. I started painting in Oils with Tom Moore at the Museum of Art in Fayetteville, NC., later I enrolled and moved into classes in Watercolor at F.T.C.C., with Lyn Padrick and continued with her classes at Cape Fear Studios, until becoming a full member. I now work in many different mediums, to include, graphite, colored pencil, pastel – oil and chalk, and Silver Point. Each of these art mediums serves me in a way to slow down and pay attention to light, texture and presence.
I serve on the Board at Cape Fear Studios, and own a small Art Gallery downtown, which is also my studio where I mainly exhibit works of friends and local artists and potters.
