Donna is a Charter and Signature artist of the Colored Pencil Society of America, has earned local,
national, and international recognition, winning fine art awards in solo and group exhibitions. Coming
from a background in graphic design, she works primarily in colored pencils. She creates contemporary
realism paintings featuring a straightforward approach to representational art. Observing closely, she
has the desire to capture and portray a series of objects and their physical appearance as seen in reality.
Coming from a background in art direction, graphic design and illustration, I make use of dramatic lighting,
strong composition and a full range of values. Working from dark to light with a process of applying 30-40
layers of color, I can produce a bold and vibrant painterly effect.
