I have been a functional potter for the last 42 years, 35 of those years I have been a member of Cape Fear Studios. Much of that time has been spent in the quest for the perfect form combined with the application of a pleasing glaze or decoration to accent that form. All of this is done around the constraints of being a single Mom of four girls and holding down a full- time job. Since retiring I have been able to spend more time in my studio experimenting with different forms, glazes and different surface treatments or forms. Each new piece leads to another idea for a different shape or form, different glaze combinations or the addition of different textures to the surface. It is a thrill to me to watch the creative process evolve from one idea to the next as my work progresses. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds as I explore new dimensions in clay.
