Predominantly self taught, Annette Szczekutek is known best for her large scale paintings of flowers. Born and raised in Wales, she and her family lived for a time in Hawaii, where the beautiful tropical plants and flowers everywhere were the inspiration to start painting them. She also has a strong interest in plein air painting, attending numerous workshops locally and regionally.
Annette has been a member of Cape Fear Studios since 1993 and is one of the in-house artists. She has been featured in numerous exhibits in and around Fayetteville and a series of her calla lily paintings were featured on notecards in the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum Gift Shop in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
